Cynergy, Kennebec Valley’s Young Professional Network, and the Kennebec Land Trust invite you to visit the Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary and Cabins in West Gardiner on Wednesday, September 4 at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join us to learn about land conservation and stewardship, trail building, and the historic cabins on Cobbossee Stream, and meet the KLT staff.
Please pre-register with the Cynergy group. This event is free.
The Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary is 115 acres and features historic cabins and 4,000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. Two of the cabins were restored by the Maine Cabin Masters in 2018 and featured in Season 3 of their DIY Network show. Currently, the KLT Stewardship team is constructing a new trail on the property.
Please be aware that parking is limited and we encourage carpooling. The cabins are a short walk through the woods from the parking area; please bring bug spray and wear suitable shoes. The historic cabins are accessed by several steps. The cabins are solar-powered and feature composting toilets.
Pre-registration is required for this event! Click the link above to register.
