Parker Pond East Shore Clean Up 10am-3pm

  • The Kennebec Land Trust Ithiel Gordon Road Mount Vernon, ME United States (map)

Come join KLT stewardship staff on the east shore of Parker Pond to help clean up old debris and structures. This property, with over 1,500 feet of shoreline on Parker Pond and an existing gravel access road, was acquired by KLT in 2025. KLT is in the planning stage of implementing public trails and water access infrastructure, but in the meantime there are old tent platforms, tarps, and other debris that needs to get hauled out.

What we need: Hands and feet to move objects out of the woods and into KLT's truck bed!

What time: Friday Sept. 4 at 10am until we're done (no later than 3pm). Leave at your leisure.

What to bring: Work clothes, gloves, water, and a lunch if you plan to stay through lunch (a great spot for a picnic and a swim). If you have a sturdy wheelbarrow, that may also come in handy.

Where: Off the Ithiel Gordon Rd. in Mt Vernon. Map Pin. Look for a KLT sign and parking area on your left, 0.7 miles from the south end of Ithiel Gordon Rd. where it meets Route 41.

No registration required.
