Pamela "Pam" Fleet Murray

December 13, 1943 - February 23, 2024

Pamela ("Pam") Fleet Murray of Camp Hill, PA died peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024 surrounded by family.  She is survived by children Deborah and Pete (Becky), three grandsons, brothers John and Alan, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Bert Murray.

Pam was born in Connecticut on Friday the 13th of December 1943.  She grew up in Cromwell, CT while spending summers with her family at Echo Lake in Maine.    Her love for Echo Lake continued all of her life, and she enjoyed waterskiing with her brothers, swimming with her children, or playing board games with her grandkids.  She loved playing cards with any and all of them.

Pam attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA.   She cherished her time at Wilson and the friends she met there and worked diligently throughout her life continuing to support Wilson through fundraising efforts.

After college, she married Lin Sanders.  They created a family together, raising two children.  Pam adored being a mother and grandmother.  Her love for and pride in her family was evident to everyone who knew her.

Pam taught Upper School Math at Harrisburg Academy from 1981 to 2006, where she shaped the minds of her students and coached their winning Quiz Bowl team.  Her love for teaching extended to all areas of her life, including the Harrisburg Bridge Club where she mentored new players.  It is there where she met her second husband, Bert Murray, also an avid card player.

Pam happily devoted many hours to various charitable organizations. She volunteered at the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Harrisburg, worked with Silver Spring Presbyterian Church doing mission trips to Maine and other activities such as the Fall Faire.

Pam's interests included bridge, trivia, and cooking. Her happiest memories came from being at the Harrisburg Bridge Club, her days at the Lake, and any time spent with her family doing absolutely anything.

A memorial service to celebrate Pam will be held March 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Silver Spring Presbyterian Church (444 Silver Spring Road, Mechanicsburg PA).  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable contribution to Wilson College (Chambersburg PA), The Kennebec Land Trust (Winthrop ME), or Silver Spring Presbyterian Church (Mechanicsburg, PA).
