Experience peak fall foliage on a guided 9:00 a.m. paddle along Hopkins Stream to the Ezra Smith Wildlife Conservation Area. Autumn colors highlight extensive undeveloped uplands and wetlands that provide habitat for ducks, wading birds, and other wildlife. Registration required. Limited to 20 participants.
A limited number of KLT-provided kayaks are available; call to reserve. Participants may also bring their own kayaks or canoes.
The Kennebec Land Trust (KLT) works cooperatively with landowners and communities to conserve the forests, shorelands, fields, and wildlife that define central Maine. KLT protects land permanently, offers opportunities for people to learn about and enjoy the natural world, and works with partners to support sustainable forestry and farming.
